HACKUCHŌ
Lakeland

Tonight we ventured out to the newly opened Japanese Izakaya Hackuchō for their six months anniversary party. They had a live DJ, complimentary Suntory Spiked Seltzer & Haku whiskey at the bar. The patio had complimentary chicken skewers as well.

This was our first time here and we were excited to try it out. We go to a lot of Asian restaurants and it seems like even more Izakaya styled restaurants because they have become quite popular in the last two years. I think they are pretty cool and I like that most of the time a lot of the menu is gluten-free as well. I enjoy small plates and it's inexpensive to try a lot of different items.

In my opinion the shrimp was the best small plate we tried and we had all of the skewers except two. I definitely could have ordered to plates of these and been good with my rice and veggies.

Pork belly

Ramen
not gluten-free

Chicken thigh

Wagyu and mushroom

And at the end of our dinner we found out we won a free bottle of Haku vodka.
