This year I was invited back to attend Le Dîner en Blanc Tampa Bay. This is the third inaugural celebration in Tampa. In case you are not familiar withLe Dîner en Blanc I will fill you in below.
Le Dîner en Blanc is a worldwide event celebrated in six continents in which people have a meal dressed in all white in a temporary dining setup, similar to a picnic, in a public space. Diners are required to bring and carry their own food, tables, chairs and tablecloths.
The "Dinner In White" is by invitation only, traditionally issued from friends and friends of friends who have participated in past years. Social media has made that process even more wide spanning due to the ease in communication and the way news travels. I am basically unsure of who recommended me last year for DEB which took place at Lowry Park Zoo, but I was also recommended this year as well, and ended up ultimately attending as media which was hosted ie; free of charge.
Everything you bring into Le Dîner En Blanc MUST be WHITE. You and your guests MUST hand carry or rent all of your table items: table (must be a specific size, chairs, linens (table cloth + napkins), utensils, glassware, and table decor are all required. From what I saw you can decorate your table any way you want as long as it is white. You can not bring your own alcohol although it is available to purchase through Dîner en Blanc planners beforehand. If you can not bring your own food or choose not to you can also have this arranged and provided at an additional price.
Here is the interesting part, you do not know the location in which the event is taking place until the day of and you walk to the location together with all of your items and prepare for a fun night rain or shine.
This was my second year being invited as media and this years event took place at Adventure Island Tampa Bay. Adventure Island effectively was closed down for this even that took place last Saturday. Once again as we are now approaching our Fall sunset our diners adorned in all white are streaming in escorted by their leaders to their tables. There are multiple photo worthy areas set up as well as entertainment, wine, and sparkling wine to be enjoyed; this year they have added a hookah bar as well.
Last year I wore a cute outfit that I already owned being that it was cold and I needed something to endure the weather that was still white. I ordered two white dresses this year, this one which is fun, youthful, and flirty and quite light on the fabric and another that was longer, thicker fabric, and more of a more older like adult-ish sophisticated style. I did an online poll to see which dress you all wanted me to wear and everyone overwhelmingly voted for this dress!

Everyone is charged to decorate their own tables however they want as long as it is white. This is one of the tables that caught my eye.
Everyone can finally eat when the napkin toss has commenced. It basically is the start of the night with food, wine, dancing and fun.
This year media was provided with prepared meals again, but these were like meals instead of a buffet like spread opposed to last year.

Vegetable fried rice and some wedge potatoes from the Steak Frites meal (not shown).
