Aircation: Stay Orlando: Hotel Ette the Wellness Luxury Boutique: All LV LOTD | Dinner at STK Orlando (Just Avoid This Place)

One thing I love is going to LV and creating my own looks. This was an idea that I had a few months ago when I went in for my anniversary gifts. I have a very popular video on YouTube on how to tie a scarf 11 ways and a second video doing more modest looks per request. I knew I wanted this scarf for the purposes of wearing it as a shirt. It is cheaper and it is more versatile e this way.

I was in quite a rush to dinner tonight, so, I forgot my belt and in retrospect, I was thinking "why did I not use the belt that came with my shorts?", But this is one of the many looks I will be coming up with for this scarf. This styling is messy-ish as I said  forgot my belt that I needed to cinch the waistline.

While many of my dinners on this trip have been fantastic this dinner was the worst dinner of all and I would NOT RECOMMEND STK Disney Springs to anyone. I will get into that below.

So, this was our first time at any STK Steakhouse despite this one having been here all the times I visit Disney Springs I never paid attention to this particular building. I have heard good things about the STK in San Francisco and other locations so I did not look up any reviews. What I learned the hard way is that this location is not the same as the other locations because it is in Disney Springs. One of those things being that it is way more expensive also and the menu is a little different than other locations. Before I get into this hot mess, let me tell you we hardly ordered much because the options that were gluten free were limited and I did not want much to begin with. with that being said this wack dinner was almost as much as the dinner we had at Salt & The Cellar by Akira Back and it was light years apart.

So, can we start with the fact that you must have a reservation to dine here or you will most likely be waiting hours. Despite having a reservation and showing up on time, the hostesses gave us attitude had us wait outside an additional 40 minutes. Then when a table was ready they gave us attitude coming back in like we didn't come back fast enough, we were literally outside the building waiting.

Now, I will preface this before I get started, I am not a night club person. When we walked in to be seated, they didn't seat us in the main dining room, they sat us in the bar area. Not that there was difference. The DJ was blasting music so loud you can not have a conversation or even hear your own thoughts. Every single song was rap music, rapping about big butts, the N word was in most of the songs being played despite this not being a night club, but a family friendly restaurant and there were children present. This music was blasted the entire time we were there, all over the restaurant  not just in the bar area. I see according to reviews they even do this at Sunday brunch. STK Orlando is in a serious identity  crisis as they don't know if they want to be an upscale restaurant or a trashy night club.

What I can say is I am not (knowingly) going to sign up to spend hundreds of dollars to sit in a dark restaurant and hear the N word being said and blasted through out the night.

Service at the bar is terrible and it is slow. In retrospect, a lot of the Yelp! complaints were about the music and the poor service at the bar. Our waiter was obviously a bartender. He did not care to wait on tables and it showed. I had 1 drink and he never asked me if I wanted another. He was not present most of the dinner and when he was, he was leaving or walking away from us when we were still talking to him.

This is gross, when we got our dinner I asked for salt. He brought me salt (in an open container) from who knows where, but it looked like he took it from another person eating at the bar and handed it to me, There were obvious finger indentations in the salt (how dreadful). When I asked for a "to go" box he handed me one that was dirty with food particles in it and when I pointed it out he more or less was like "whatever." I watched him walk back to the bar and put it back on the top of the stack of plastic containers and he brought me another one.

25.00$ over priced cocktails...

Blue Iceberg

This wedge salad was meh at best and cost 25.00$. I have paid 25.00$ for a salad before and it was not as minuscule  or unimpressive as this one! The ranch/ bleu cheese dressing was not even made in house, it came from a container and tasted almost flavorless and bland and was kind of slimy in texture. I also wasn't a fan of how the salad was plated. As soon as you try to cut it it slides off the plate. My husbands salad ended up on the table as a result.

As you can see most of the salad is actually not edible, well you can eat the white part of the lettuce, but I don't. This is usually the part I throw out and I would not expect a restaurant  to serve this especially for 25.00$ and most of the salad was like this!

The Prime dry-aged steak was underwhelming.

Alaskan Red King Crab

I hated the way they shoved these crab legs in this ice and served it. I have never had King Crab legs like this, but they weren't good. They tasted funny and had a texture very similar to Surimi which is Imitation  Crab.

Yukon gold potatoes without the Parmesan  crust

I obviously am a huge fan of Disney Springs, I go there every time I come to Orlando and dine at a bunch of different restaurants. This is the first time in all the years of my adult life I have ever had a bad experience at a restaurant located with in any Disney property and I have eaten at a lot of places. This experience was horrible and we left with our ears ringing, I had a headache, we were more outraged, shocked, and annoyed than anything. I definitely  should have checked Yelp before I made the reservation because every single complaint is consistent with my experience. I would have saved my 300+ dollars and ate at the restaurant at the Wellness Hotel again if I had known this was what was waiting for us to be honest.

  1. You look amazing and I like the way you kept it simple with the matching shoes and top. I also can relate to that crab you order, some resturants are just all about the money not the taste.

    Wishing you a great week.
