September 2024 City Life VLOG: Yoga & Fitness Updates, Hauls, Gluten Free Home Cooked Foods, Date Nights and More

A different version of you exists in the minds
of everyone who knows you.

I read a book that blew my mind. The main
character goes crazy when he realizes no one
really knows him. The gist is that the person
you think of as "yourself"' exists only for you,
and even you don't really know who that is.
Every person you meet, have
relationship
a
with or make eye contact on the street with,
creates a version of "you" in their heads
You're not the same person to your mom,
your dad, your siblings, than you are to your
coworkers, your neighbours or your friends.
There are a thousand different versions of
yourself out there, in people's minds. A "you'
exists in each version, and yet your you
yourself isn t really a someone" at all.

September was like a blink as we experienced a hurricane, hurricane Helene which was a few weeks after a tropical storm which also took place this month. This month my husband and I did not do a lot because of this, I cooked a lot of meals almost every day and we ate healthy. It has been a while since we had been to Bolay which is a healthy restaurant where everything is gluten-free and served in bowls. I needed a break from cooking so we got some take out and I like to show all types of restaurants in my area of South Tampa so I thought I would share.

This bowl is actually a kids meal and I ordered it because the regular bowl is usually too much for me. As you can see the kids bowl is still a lot of food plus you get a cookie and juice which I do like. The juice and cookie are delicious.

These are the full sized bowls and I believe I got Teriyaki chicken with broccoli and sweet potato noodles. My kids bowl had citrus chicken, but to be honest the both tasted the same. My husband got the steak bowl with mushrooms and sweet potato noodles.

TAMPA FASHION WEEK 2024

Tampa Fashion Week this year was a great success. I had a lot of photos from the runway show so I published half in the main post and the rest are here.

These are just about every piece that the other three or four designers shared.

Looks from this month's outfit posts that didn't make it to the original blog posts:

And a quick note, most of this months content was centered around my anniversary vacations which I recap in separate posts and with the hurricane I did not have a lot of outfit posts for this main post. However, there was a trip that I did not post and it is going to be posted with another series in the future.

FITNESS UPDATE:

It has been a little minute, but fitness wise it is finally at a place where my tailbone feels mostly healed, hallelujah. I had to scale way back on my workouts this whole year so I am now working with a bit of delay I guess. That is discouraging, but I still try to keep to my regular yoga schedule.

Food. It has been so long since I became a Flexitarian I am getting to the point where I  am getting disgusted with meat during certain periods of the month. the sight and smell of meat is just making me crazy and I have always had these issues, but now its tightened because I am not on a high meat based diet now for 11 years. That though is something that I am proud of because it was so hard at the beginning, but now I don't even think about it.

I have inspired a lot of people, but most importantly my husband who about 10 years ago used to eat steak several times a week and then it went to only a few times a month and now it is once a month or every two months when we go out to dinner.

The last month all I have wanted is salmon, potatoes, and tomatoes and salad.
My time in other countries also led me to feel a lot differently about food, about the food that we have in the United States.  My largest budget in my household is food and its organic fresh, non-GMO foods that are gluten-free. All these things, and it really still isn't good enough, look at how only three companies grow most of the lettuce for the entire U.S. and people keep getting sick from it. I actually started buying hydroponic lettuce years ago, then this year we started a hydroponic garden as well.

But my Summer travels opened me up to a world of new experiences and tastes and I loved it and I welcomed it, but it also made me less excited about the food and the prices we pay in my home country. My organic food doesn't even taste the same as regular food in other countries!
