Piper Heidsieck Essentiel Champagne for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants; Hosted Event + LOTN the Blazer Dress

Tonight I was invited to an exclusive event at Ocean Prime Tampa. This event was the launch of Piper Heidsieck Essentiel champagne for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. Cameron Mitchell Restaurants is the first US restaurant company to have the opportunity to partner with Piper Heidsieck in this way and they have also partnered with Four Seasons in the past.

This was a one-of-a-kind Piper Heidsieck champagne tasting featuring the exclusive, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants blend, Essentiel meaning, this champagne was specifically blended for this restaurant  chain and will be sold here (which restaurants  are listed below).

Chief Winemaker, Émilien Boutillat

Cameron Mitchell Restaurants team traveled to Reims, France to taste and select this exclusive blend, which launched earlier this month.“Essentiel By Cameron Mitchell”  it is available at 34 CMR restaurants, including 17 Ocean Prime locations coast-to-coast which are listed below. According to Forbes Two thousand five hundred bottles have been produced and are available for $30/glass or $120/bottle.

While the Brut pairs perfectly with oysters or seafood and charcuterie, their most expensive blend, pairs well with steak and duck as it has a more mineral finish with hints of black cherry and other notes according to Émilien Boutillat.

I had the opportunity to try all four blends and while all are very impressive and special in their own way I took a liking to the first one which had more fruity notes and pairs well with brunch as well as charcuterie and seafood. The champagne did pair well with the oysters which to me had a mineral sweet finish with low salinity. The flavor of the champagne changed actually with the presence of the the "liquor" from the oysters.

I also loved the Rosé which also pairs perfectly for the same reasons and who doesn't love sparkling rose?

As far as the final champagne which is the most expensive, it does pair well with meat. While we had charcuterie as a barometer, I had a chance to taste that with the jus and mashed potatoes. The jus is paired with the braised beef rib.

The exclusive champagne is available at Ocean Prime locations coast-to-coast (except New York), and the following Cameron Mitchell Restaurants:
Cameron’s American Bistro
Cento
The Guild House
Martini Modern Italian
The Barn at Rocky Fork Creek
Del Mar SoCal Kitchen

*It will be available at future locations opening in 2024, including Big Rock Italian Chophouse, Birmingham, MI, Butcher & Rose, Columbus and Ocean Prime Sarasota.
