Le Dîner en Blanc Tampa Bay 2022 #Hosted | White Blazer Dress + Jimmy Choo Pumps

Le Dîner en Blanc is a worldwide event celebrated in six continents in which people have a meal dressed in all white in a temporary dining setup, similar to a picnic, in a public space. Diners are required to bring and carry their own food, tables, chairs and tablecloths.

The "Dinner In White" is by invitation only, traditionally issued from friends and friends of friends who have participated in past years. Social media has made that process even more wide spanning due to the ease in communication and the way news travels. I am basically unsure of who recommended  me last year for DEB which took place at Lowry Park Zoo, but I was also recommended this year as well, and ended up ultimately attending as media which was hosted ie; free of charge.

Everything you bring into Le Dîner En Blanc MUST be WHITE. You and your guests MUST hand carry or rent all of your table items: table (must be a specific size, chairs, linens (table cloth + napkins), utensils, glassware, and table decor are all required. From what I saw you can decorate your table any way you want as long as it is white. You can not bring your own alcohol although it is available to purchase through Dîner en Blanc planners beforehand. If you can not bring your own food or choose not to you can also have this arranged and provided at an additional price.

Here is the interesting part, you do not know the location in which the event is taking place until the day of and you walk to the location together with all of your items and prepare for a fun night rain or shine.

This year's meeting took place at the beautiful Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and Riverwalk in Tampa's Downtown.

Taking place just before our Winter sunset we were escorted to the secret location which everyone finds out only minutes before. It is pretty cool to see everyone being escorted in wearing all of their best white outfits and coming from all areas of the city totting their diner wear. This being my first year invited as media it was a sight to see.

Recaps:
All in all, the evening was really fun for everyone despite the fact that it was about 53 degrees. I personally enjoyed seeing how people chose to decorate their tables. They had dancers on stilts,  4 photo areas, and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

The park, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park remained open to the public so many people approached me entering from Riverwalk and the Winter Festival asking what was the event going on. Many people thought it was a wedding and I explained it was Dîner en Blanc. They had never heard of it before which is understandable, I had never heard of it until I was invited in 2021.

Although the concept has evolved since 19 the main goal is still there, which is to come out in your best clothes and dine outside with your friends in a large group.

I must say, I know the turnout would be in the hundreds, but to me it looked like about 1500 people showed up. There were endless lines of people all donned in white streaming in from different directions of downtown.

Stay tuned and maybe next year you may also attend and who knows where the secret location will be. Tampa Bay has so many beautiful parks the opportunities are limitless for Dîner en Blanc Tampa Bay.
