Media Event Pokeworks University Center: OOTD Print T-Shirt + Skater Skirt + Wedges

Tonight we were invited out to the media night for Poke Works new location in University Square (this is right my my alma matter University of South Tampa). Their nutritional info is available on their website here and you can clearly see what is and isn't gluten free. You catch as your premium poke bowl, or burrito is freshly made in front of you, for a fully customizable experience.

Tonight's look is a simple, chic, and stylish outfit. I love flamingos and I have so many of these flamingo t-shirts lying around. They were so inexpensive so I keep buying them.

The newest location of Pokeworks is in University Center right on the far west side of the USF campus. This literally was my husbands and my old stomping grounds in college, so I know that this location will get tons of business. Its nice and roomy with bright lighting for foodies getting their lives. I can just imagine all the creative photos of bowls and burritos on the USF campus with the Bulls statue at Marshall Center in the background. Don't get me started with that though! Tonight's media night was to kind of build up some excitement for Saturdays grand opening from 11am to 10pm East Folwer Ave STE C, Tampa FL 33612. The first 50 customers will receive a free coconut drink, prizes will be given out all day, and bowls & burritos will be BOGO.

A little about the company: Pokeworks newest chef-collaborator is Sheldon Simeon. Sheldon is an alumnus of Bravo’s Top Chef and the executive chef/owner of Maui’s Tin Roof. He has curated a series of Signature Works for Pokeworks (you can find on the link here) with ingredients that have been inspired from the plethora of cultures he grew around while living in Hawaii.

Poke works is inspired by sustainable, seasonal, and natural ingredients and Pokeworks is committed to bringing you superior seafood. They (as well as the partner of this restaurant and the International Plaza Pokeworks restaurant) believe in responsibly-sourced seafood as more than just a trend.

"We believe in the importance of meeting today’s needs while preserving our oceans so that future generations will never have to fish in troubled waters. Pokeworks, our sustainability efforts go beyond the menu. Being socially and environmentally responsible is a commitment.  On top of prioritizing sustainable food sources, we have put an effort into finding sustainable building material.  A number of our spaces use Forest Stewardship Council™-certified reclaimed wood products".

Now that hubs is no longer on his keto diet we finally had a chance to experience the poke burrito! I was so interested in this myself, but the seaweed wrap is not gluten free. Pokeworks has a really cool proprietary seaweed and rice roller which we got to watch in action.

I decided to try the sous vide scallops and shrimp with quinoa. I went heavier on the cilantro, green onion, and spicy ginger and classic salt for my next bowl. According to the owner they are testing new items all over the country specific to region and may be adding more hot items to the menu.
