FO IT FROM LOVE, NOT FOR LOVE.

I was sick on Christmas, but I made dinner.

I let everyone down and no one even asked if I was ok or if I felt better other than my husband.

Full transparency: I twisted his arm to take these photos )today) and by today, three days later when I felt better.

And we are both ok with that. This was however the planned look.

Christmas in South Tampa is always magical to me.

I don't need anyones permission to shine.

I spent a lot of time planning Christmas for everyone else and when Christmas got here, I got sick the night before.

I'm not apologizing for being sick to anyone nor would I ask that of anyone else. BUT, this is how Christmas looks in my house because we (my husband & I) are a family.

This is our life!

And this is my babies first year as the only cat.

And my experience is not taking away from anyone else's.

Black women, please take care of your hearts as heart disease is the number one killer. Stress is so detrimental to us. Choose yourself if your body is telling you NO rest.

As for this day, No, not what I wanted, but I cooked and we had a hearty Southern meal. And clearly, I felt better a few days later to take these pics. But I wish I was there on the 25th and that is what people don't understand. I wish anyone had asked if I was ok, but no one did because no one ever does.

CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST

Christmas breakfast has always been a traditional in my family. However, we have started traditions in my family, and we still uphold Christmas breakfast even if we are just a family of 2 with our cat Yue.

I love making breakfast, but hubs make great omelettes, and I just tell him what to put in them, lol.
