Intermezzo Cafe... with Miracle Christmas pop up
Everyday at 5pm you can enjoy holiday themed cocktails and festivities at Intermezzo Cafe. Their menu does list which drinks are gluten free by the way. Its a quaint small space with a great vibe. You can hang out in there for a while and then make your way over mot the other side of Baum Ave. Market which contains other restaurants in a lower key food court style setting.

Modern Brine at Baum Ave Market
I have been wanting to go to Modern Brine all year and today was finally the day. Hubs and I had to kill some time until the Omskase started and I could tell he was skeptical. Earlier in the year we did a sushimi and nagiri Omakase and it was phenomenal. This is basically the same concept, but I would say on a smaller scale. The bar at Modern Brine seats about 6 people so I was actually glad we arrived early. We got to learn about the oysters as well as what areas of the United States they came from and get a very intimate experience watching the Chef prepare them.

We first start out with a plain oyster kind of to get you situated.

If you are un-familar with Omakase style dining it basically means "I'll leave it up to you". The chef chooses to make whatever he wants and you taste it. As usual, things got a little tricky once I told him I could not have gluten, but he worked around it. Every single oyster we tried was amazing and very little was being done, but he was creating intricate flavor profiles that I would have never even tried. This place is a must try if you are an oyster lover. The oysters are $3.50 each.

I believe this oyster had dill, lime, black pepper and olive oil. it was damn amazing.

This one was my favorite. It's got fresh cut green onions, sesame oil, cucmober and an alchohol made from Anis. The flavors with the oil and the sharp brine sent me.

Cucumber, green onions, fermented thai chilis, and lemon.
