You guys have probably noticed this little bag I have been carrying since December, it was my Valentine's Day gift. There was a special circumstances in which the bag was available in December and I had one chance to get it so I got it. I have been so in love with this bag, i wanted it since like 2014 and it was sold out. I will tell you this...I had the bag in my hands and I put it back and when we got back to our room my husband just said "I don't know why you left that bag there, you need to go back and get it before they sell it to someone else". I couldn't believe it! So we got dressed again and went back to the store and bought it.

There are actually two posts for this date night, but I wanted to focus on the Valentines Day 5 course prefix kaieseki menu separately.
Now, you guys know I love Norigami and Kappo Tsan and Kappo Tsan is the newest restaurant that opened (stop # 1 in my New Years Food Tour also) so I had to return.
For Valentines Day Chef David had a five course prefixe kaieseki
menu (that was customizable).
This also came with a complimentary glass of champagne or sparkling tea (non-alcoholic). We finished off with dessert for two which was a gluten-free cheesecake with a guava sauce. Everything was so well done.
Each course was highly curated. Not all of the courses were gluten-free, 3 out of five were. I want to comment on what I could have. I have never thought to put strawberries on oysters. Raw Oysters. Wow, this is why I love these type of dining experiences because it really opens up you palet to flavors you would have never paired together. Now, these oysters came with a soy sauce and I couldn't have that so mine were not the same as the ones with the sauce (if you look at the photos you will see two or three do not have the sauce). My husband was blown away by how the sauce went with the strawberries and oysters. I imaginr it probably was an infusion of citrus and umami and a finish of bold flavor from the sauce...I am just guessing.
This dish did have a sauce with it and so I dis not have any, but it looked and smelled amazing. It's the perfect amount of meat in my opinion. It was well cooked and I don't know about you all, but I love steak with rice. I make steak with rice all the time at home. My mouth was watering looking at this.
Now don't fret, I also had more food as well, but I am sharing that in a second post because I wanted to focus on this menu.
The final course was this gluten-free guave cheesecake. It was so delicious. When I first found out I had Celiac Disease almost 15 years ago I had to give cheesecake up completely and now I am finding more and more restaurants are making them gluten-free free. I am so happy to ha e cheesecake back in my life, we go together real bad.
