Happy New Year! Aircation 2020: Make Mine Sweet... Flowing Maxi Dress + Heels

Happy Saturday loves! I am surprising you all with an off schedule post from our Aircation. After spending some time in Longboat Key and Sarasota, we mosied on over to the Don Cesar Hotel at St. Pete Beach. We have stayed here before and I have reviewed the hotel before (2 years ago). We absolutely love it here at the hotel and on this side of town. It is tradition to take a New Years micro vacation to the beach...you know the one I deemed our "secret beach". To my surprise the hotels were very very over priced for New Years day, but the Don Cesar was just right.

Before leaving Sarasota we had a late lunch at this new restaurant in St. Aramonds Circle. We got there before it was even busy...It was empty for the most part and service was so slow! Our late lunch service took over 2 hours and we did not even have any special requests. The drinks were just ok, our waiter was not really present in the mind. He seemed aloof and distracted even though it wasn't busy. Our table was left constantly with dirty dishes for thirty to forty minutes after we ate.

The clams in the buttery sauce were great, but I kind of feel like how can you mess up steamed clams in butter sauce. Unfortunately being from the South I also felt like it was impossible to mess up a steam pot, but they did. If you look below the lobster steam pot looks huge, but it had no seasoning at all; just butter on the side and some parsley as a garnish. No salt was used, no Old Bay seasoning, no seafood boil seasoning just NOTHING. I was and still can not figure out how they are bringing themselves to serve up unseasoned seafood like that. The "steam pot" also contained maybe less of half of a red potato cut into cubes. Surprisingly that was the best tasting thing on the plate so I asked for more since it was such a small amount. Forty minutes later I am still waiting and what little food I had left was cold. The corn was also mushy life it was pre-frozen and un-edible. At the end, we spent almost $200.00 on a meal that maybe was worth $70.00. I would not recommend  this restaurant to anyone especially anyone who is proficient in steam pots. They have other things to eat like pasta and fried items, but overall the restaurant  is overpriced.
