Tonight we visited Ash Tampa, an Italian eatery then concluded by going next door to Alter Ego which is a cocktail bar. You can find these two Water Street district restaurants easily by going behind The Tampa Edition. You can find street parking all around this area including valet, public parking garage and a large parking lot located by Yard House.

Ash and Alter Ego both have chic yet minimalistic decor. While Ash serves both food and has a full bar its sister establishment next door has cocktails and light bites. I would recommend the half dozen oysters featuring a lemongrass cucumber mignonette or my favorite which is the caviar service. Happy Hour drinks are 12$ for this area that is a great price.

Vichyssoise with Key West Pink Shrimp

This is a recipe I do not give out because it is a family recipe and I have modified it a bunch of differengt times and posted it. Its basically a more "elevated" version of this Southern family recipe I grew up eating. I was very proud and happy with how this turned out as well.

Some birthday dinners. My husband wanted something low key for his birthday so I surprised him with a copycat Taco Bell Mexican Pizza.

For my birthday dinner I wanted to try something fancier. I have always heard caviar and F ried chicken went well together (I have my doubts) so I decided to try my hand at Caviar chicken nuggets and the nuggets are gluten free.
