NYE Aircation: Food Tour Stop 3; Sushi Izuki | Saul Jumper + Trousers + Louis Vuittton

It was important for me to post this because this date was one that was truly magical and important especially for the start of the New Year!!!

In between the rain and the sun going down at about 5:30pm there is just so little time for a lot and its been so cold! I am truly not the best with styling Winter clothes becauae Winter in Florida can be "touch and go". It will be sunny out and look inviting and then you know it was a trick becauae its windy so it feels 10 degrees lower. Or in my case, it either rains or the sun goes down and the temperature drops 5 to 8 degrees and now I am under dressed.

So yea, my New Years look was on the skimpy side for Winter, but I will post it..

So, this was stop # 3 in my current food tour "Year of the Fire Horse". We went to Izuki Sushi for our anniversary, and it was their soft opening as well. This restaurant is giving something completely different than what I have experienced before at other restaurants offering omakase styled dining. It's sleek it's sexy and the Tatami rooms they have for dining make it worth returning over and over again.

The omakase was fire with each item presented. There was uniqueness, flavor, and presentation, and they made the entire omakase gluten-free for us because I have Celiac Disease. This place is a must try.

This is stop 3 in my latest New Year food tour which is titled "Year of the Firehorse".

Sushi Izuki has just opened over in the Dr Phillips areas and I have just been so obsessed over this restaurant so I had to go there for their omakase. Now, what I didn't know is that their omakase is all they have. So yea it's 17 courses, but fairly priced at 150.00$. 17 courses is a lot for me (I really struggle to eat that many courses in one sitting).

Some quick info from their website, "Sushi Izuki is Chef Leo's declaration to shock the world of omakase. With over 15 years of expertise including multiple Michelin guides under his belt along with his experience working with and under Michelin starred chefs from New York to California. Our head chef Leo is now striving to obtain his own Michelin star. With his innovative style he meticulously crafts each dish using the freshest, most delectable seasonal ingredients. Our atmosphere is traditional yet modern, and every dish is designed to deliver a new transformation of flavor with influence from Japan along with the western world."

This was a great experience from the moment we walked in. Our waiter was beyond nice, like way more accommodating than he even had to be which is another reason I wanted to make sure I got this post up this month as planned.

So, Sushi Izuki has the Chef's Counter seating and then they have these little rooms called Tatami Rooms that you can book for a more intimate experience at no extra price.

So, we had our reservation in the little room and it is basically the exact same as doing the omakase at the counter, but this is more intimate and kind of chic in my opinion. Your waiter brings you the courses as they are prepared and yes, they had no problems accounting for me having Celiac disease (one of the reasons I am always in Orlando vrs Tampa for omakase).

So, these first two photos are just the starters. Already the starters are great. It's easy to present omakase, but I guess for me, after going to 20 or more of these items becomes more of the same because some places will do like a basic omakase with nothing different or inventive or special.  So for me personally, I look for what is unique now and so far, it's looking unique.
