This Little Thing Called Love: Brunch & Museum Date... Striped Midi Dress + Block Heels

This was the final day of our vacation for the holidays and we were dreading work. I wanted to go out for brunch and catch this exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts called a Grasshopper and the Ant. I have photos from two of three rooms below and the third will be in the January City Life post.

"The Grasshopper and the Ant' and Other Stories, as told by Jennifer Angus"

The Shadow boxes on the wall are filled with iridescent winged beetles that spell out the first line of the 1800s poem, "The Butterfly's Ball and The Grasshopper’s Feast" by William Roscoe.

The Animal Dinner Party is set with Victorian china, the dinner party features taxidermy animals surrounded by mounted faux heads in deep black and bright, glittering gold. #JenniferAngus' message here is unity — that despite our differences, it's possible to sit down, break bread, communicate and connect.

The 11 taxidermy animals are all native to Florida, and were loaned by Tony's Artistic Taxidermy in Hawthorne, Florida and an MFA staff member.
